PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to efficiently use a fixed memory to record a nozzle inspection result so that a total time to be required for the inspection is shortened. SOLUTION: The nozzle inspection apparatus 100 comprises: a nozzle determining means for determining the number of nozzles as an inspection unit; an inspection result acquisition means for making as many nozzles as determined above, discharge ink, and acquiring an inspection result about discharging or non-discharging of the nozzles: an inspection result storage means for storing the inspection result for the above number of nozzles in some part of a register; a developing means for dumping data about an area other than the some part, reading the inspection result about the some part, and writing it in a first fixed memory area, in the register; a calculating means for calculating an effective value of the inspection result written in the first fixed memory area; and a final storage means for storing the calculated effective value.
