<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that paper is resupplied by a paper discharge tray opened in a state that a paper feed cassette is not pulled out to a required resupply position where the paper is resupplied, thus resulting in double feed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This image forming device comprises the paper feed cassette 2 which can be pulled out to the predetermined paper resupply position as it remains mounted to a device body 1 and whose bottom plate 41 for paper to be placed thereon is in a descending state when it is pulled by a predetermined distance out of the device body 1, the paper discharge tray 3 serving as the cover member of the paper feed cassette 2 and rockingly mounted to the device body 1 for opening and closing the paper feed cassette 2 at its upper side, and a paper discharge tray lock mechanism 13 composed of a paper discharge tray lock part 311 and a paper feed cassette hook 211 for opening the paper discharge tray 3 when the bottom plate of the paper feed cassette 2 is in a descending position and for restricting the opening of the paper discharge tray 3 when the bottom plate 41 is in a position where it is raised beyond the descending position.
