<p>A stent has substantially wave-shaped constituting elements stretchable in the circumferential direction. Annular sections formed by including the substantially wave-shaped constituting elements are arranged extending in the longitudinal axis direction. The stent has connecting sections for connecting to each other substantially wave-shaped constituting elements in adjacent annular sections. When the stent is in an expanded state, lines interconnecting connecting sections which are adjacent to each other and are connected to each other without other connecting sections in between form two helixes extending in the directions opposite to each other with respect to the longitudinal axis, and the helixes have different wavelengths. The stent has high fatigue durability when placed in a human body and uniformly expands in expansion and heat treatment steps of a manufacturing process. The stent is suitable for crimping and can be easily inserted in a delivery catheter.</p> |
