[Also in Divisions D1-D2] A self-tightening coupling for securing bobbin or roll 3 on a spindle 7 comprises a resilient sleeve 1 having a n-sided polygonal bore surrounding a n-lobed cam 2 fast with the spindle 7 so that the sleeve 1 is expanded into driving engagement with the bobbin or roll 3 by the cam 2 on relative rotation between the cam 2 and sleeve 1. The outer surface of the sleeve 1 may be cylindrical or conical. The sleeve 1 may be made of polyurethane or rubber. |
