摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption upon engine start-up by effectively using rotational energy stored in a flywheel upon the engine start-up. <P>SOLUTION: A hybrid wheel 10 is provided with: an engine 12; a motor MG1 configured to function as a power generator and a motor for engine start in which a flywheel 74 is connected through a clutch mechanism 72 to a rotor 29; a motor MG2 to receive power supply from a battery 50, and to output the power; and a hybrid ECU 66 to control the connection and connection release of the clutch mechanism. When an engine start request is made while the vehicle travels with the power of the motor MG2, a hybrid ECU 66 executes control to connect a clutch mechanism 72 under such conditions that the number of revolution of the motor MG1 is a negative value, and to connect the flywheel 74 storing the rotational energy to the motor MG1 while the vehicle is traveling. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
