PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a money management device effectively suppressing the occurrence of erroneous calculation when in/out operation is performed during the interception of a commercial power source. SOLUTION: The money management device is provided with: a measuring means for measuring the amount of money stored in a storage case; an opening operation detecting means for detecting whether the storage case is opened during the interception of the commercial power source utilizing an internal power source; an opening operation information storage means for storing information on the detection result of the opening operation detecting means utilizing the internal power source; and a storage means for data before interception that stores a measured result by the measuring means before the commercial power source is intercepted. In the case where information to the effect that the storage case is opened is stored by the opening operation information storage means when the commercial power source is switched from an intercepted state to a conductive state, measurement by the measuring means is performed again, and the remeasured result is compared to the measured result stored in the storage means for data before interception.
