PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide bearing capable of being manufactured at low costs and having a desired strength. SOLUTION: The bearing is formed of a compressed compact produced by impregnating pores of a metal powder compact with a binding material and solidifying it. The binding material ensures the strength of the bearing, so a sintering process can be omitted from the processes of manufacturing the bearing. Thereby, deformation associated with sintering is eliminated, resulting in high dimensional accuracy as well as a large-scale facility not needed.
