PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device, which achieves low cost, a wide selection range for boost voltage, a small switching loss, and excellent conversion efficiency as the entire device. SOLUTION: A reactor Lo and a single-phase full bridge inverter IV operating at a high frequency are serially connected in sequence to one power line l1 of a single-phase alternating current power source AC. A double-voltage converter CV1 is connected between the power line l1 connected in series and the other power line l2 of the alternating current power source AC. The double-voltage converter CV1 is operated by a driving signal of one pulse added at each half period of the alternating current power source AC to change an alternating current into a direct current.
