PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air from infiltrating into a cylinder when a die casting component is cast by a hot chamber die casting machine. SOLUTION: The hot chamber die casting machine includes a molten metal tank 10 in which molten metal of a fused metal material is put in, a cylinder 31 arranged so that molten metal can be supplied from the molten metal tank through a molten metal feed path 12, a plunger 40 arranged freely slidably in the cylinder and provided with a shape having no exchange ring, and a molten metal feed path (goose neck) 32 that guides molten metal inside the cylinder to a nozzle by sliding of the plunger. With the nozzle 50 connected to casting dies 61, 62, the molten metal flowed out from the nozzle by the sliding of the plunger 40 is filled in the casting dies. In the present invention, the machine is structured such that the plunger 40 in the range in contact with the inner wall of the cylinder at the bottom dead point of the plunger 40 is immersed in the molten metal 11 in the molten metal tank 10 at the upper dead point of the plunger 40.
