摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for manufacturing a drive shaft having an asymmetrical tissue removing part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method is for manufacturing the drive shaft (20) having the asymmetrical tissue removing part (28). One or more element wires are helically wound around a thin and long mandrel having an enlarged diameter part (28) with a predetermined shape to form the thin and long flexible drive shaft (20) having the enlarged tissue removing part (28). A part of the drive shaft (21) including the enlarged tissue removing part is held by a first clamp, and heat-treated (first heat treatment) to form windings (31) on the enlarged tissue removing part (28) in an initial form, and thereby the initial form of the enlarged tissue removing part (28) of the drive shaft (20) is maintained.
