The bottom and sides of an open topped sealable container, such as a tin, are lined with a flour pastry, a filling, such as chicken, pork, ham, steak and kidney, or bacon, with or without vegetables such as onions, which may be minced or in the form of lumps, together with an edible jelly, is introduced into the lined container and a pastry lid is applied, after which the container and contents are heated for a predetermined time, for example 350‹F. for 35, minutes, the contents pressed down level with the top of the container, a lid is applied to the container and sealed on, and the sealed container and contents again heated for a predetermined time, for example 250‹F. for 65 minutes. The pastry may be made from self-raising flour, rice flour, soya flour, butter, egg, and salt. |
