<p>This invention provides a water purification device which can efficiently purify water, for example, for raising aquarium fishes. Air bubbles are supplied and dispersed in treatment object water by a treatment object water supply device (20). The treatment water with air bubbles dispersed therein supplied from the treatment water supply device is delivered in a tangential direction within an agitating part (32) in a vertically long cylindrical treatment tank (30) through a nozzle (26) at such a pressure that the treatment water is reservoired in the overall height in a vertical direction of the treatment tank, whereby a swirling flow (S) of the treatment water is formed within the agitating part (32). In this case, contaminants contained in the treatment object water are captured in the air bubbles by allowing the swirling flow (S) to stay for a predetermined period of time. The air bubbles with the contaminants being captured therein are allowed to ascend, are pushed out from the treatment tank, and are received in a contaminant receiving tank (40). The water cleaned by removing the contaminants is allowed to flow downward by the pressure of water in the upper part of the agitating part (32) and is withdrawn through a purified water withdrawing passage (27).</p> |
