<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external stair structure combining assurance of strength of step parts and improvement in the degree of freedom. <P>SOLUTION: An outdoor steel staircase 1A includes at least one step part 5 and a pair of open strings 3 supporting both end parts of the step part 5. The step part 5 has a plate-like load bearing member 7 supported to the open strings 3, and a plate-like decorative member 9 placed on the load bearing member 7. In this steel staircase 1A, if strength is secured by the load bearing member 7, it is sufficient, so that the decorative member 9 is released from a demand for assurance of strength. The degree of design freedom for finishing is thereby improved in the decorative member 9. On the other hand, treatment for finishing and consideration for appearance are dispensed with in the load bearing member 7.
