PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus capable of performing photographing with an improved frame rate by shortening an image reading time. SOLUTION: In the image capturing apparatus, the frame rate of a moving image is improved by executing noise reading and pixel signal reading in a predetermined time for still image reading operation, and executing noise reading and pixel signal reading in a time shorter than the predetermined time of the still image reading operation for moving image reading operation.
