A method and a device for improving the clock stability are provided by the embodiments of the present invention. The method includes the following steps: pre-processing the sender and receiver timestamps if the difference between the sender and receiver timestamps is a burst value; obtaining the service clock according to the pre-processed sender and receiver timestamps; sending the time division multiplexing data according to the service clock. In the concrete implementation, by the process for the burst of the timestamp, the packet delay jitter is smoothed, the impairment to the clock recovery due to the packet delay jitter is reduced, the clock recovery quality is improved, and the clock synchronization problem is solved.
