PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeposition coating monitoring device and method which monitor a coating process according to an electrodeposition coating and can quickly detects and reports the occurrence of a failure of the coated state and a coating device, and to provide a method of manufacturing electrodeposition coated article. SOLUTION: The monitoring method monitors electrodeposition of an object to be coated performed by the use of a conveyance member which conveys the object to be coated while immersing the object into an electrodeposition coating material 12 in an electrodeposition tank 11 and a plurality of electrodes 13 arranged along the conveyance direction of the object to be coated by means of the conveyance member, and the method comprises: a step of obtaining a position of the object to be coated in the conveyance direction by means of the conveyance member of the object to be coated based on information from the conveyance member; a step of, when the obtained positional information is a value corresponding to a predetermined determination position, obtaining an electric current value of a predetermined electrode for the determination position among the plurality of electrodes 13; and a step of, according as the obtained value is in the predetermined preferable range or not, performing determination of the presence or absence of abnormal occurrence related to the object to be coated existing on the determination position.
