PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure a length in the original discharge direction of an original discharge table with a simple structure even when the front face of a scanner body is smaller. SOLUTION: A scanner apparatus 10 includes the scanner body 12 with an original insertion port 14 and an original discharge port 16 arranged therein. The original is fetched from the original insertion port 14 be read, and then, discharged from the original discharge port 16. The scanner apparatus 10 also includes: an upper face cover 20 for covering the upper face of the scanner body 12; and a front face cover 18 for covering the front face of the scanner body 12. The lower end of the front face cover 18 is connected to the front and lower part of the scanner body 12, and also the upper end of the front face cover 18 is rotatably connected to the front end of the upper face cover 20. When the front face cover 18 is opened from the front face of the scanner body 12, the upper face cover 20 and the front face cover 18 form the original discharge table 28.
