PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means in a process of manufacturing an aluminum wheel, which gives sufficient adhesiveness between the aluminum wheel and a chromate-free film and corrosion resistance to the aluminum wheel, even when chromate-free surface treatment has been applied to an aluminum wheel after having been cast. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the aluminum wheel includes a cleaning step of chemically etching the surface of the aluminum wheel with an alkali cleaning liquid containing an alkali builder, an organic builder and a chelating agent until an Si atom ratio of metal Si with respect to oxide Si reaches 0.01 to 9.
