<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical interference filter which can improve the color purity, the color reproducibility, and the light extracting efficiency in a configuration emitting light from the cathode side, and also to provide a display and an electronic device which can display high-definition images over a long time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical interference filters 102 has a number of semi-transmissive layers 13 separated from one another with spacing and having a function of passing light partly and reflecting the remainder. It is built to repeat light reflection between adjoining two semi-transmissive layers 13 to generate interference and to emit the light of a wavelength matching the distance L between the two semi-transmissive layers 13.
