WORK GRIPPING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING ASSEMBLY USING THE SAME

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work gripping apparatus capable of effectively assembling an assembly formed by layering a plurality of parts in a small space. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gripping apparatus 30 includes: a base 31; a cylindrical guide 42 mounted on the base 31 extending in a predetermined direction and having a first piece 421 at a front edge; a cylindrical collet 43 mounted coaxially with the guide 43; a rod-like shaft 44 inserted into the guide 42 and the collet 42 and having a second piece 441 on the front edge thereof; an actuator 41 which makes the pieces 421, 441 approach or separate from each other by relatively moving the guide 42 and the shaft 44; and a locking portion 50 mounted on the base 31 and capable of advancing and retreating in a predetermined direction and locking the front edge thereof on a work. Outside diameters of the first piece 421 and the second piece 441 are smaller than an inside diameter of the collet 43 on the collet 43 side and larger than an inside diameter of the collet 43 on the opposite side to the collet 43.
