<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which maintains high speed and excellent usability when performing synthesized display of two images for alignment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When performing synthesized display, a control section 3 sends a high-resolution current image from a camera unit 1 to a main image memory 41. Furthermore, a high-resolution template image from a template image memory 7 is sent to a sub image memory 42, and a low-resolution template image is recorded in the sub image memory 42 having small capacity.
