<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, in a camera recording and reproducing device which rotates a cooling fan to cool the inside, rotation sound of the cooling fan is captured by a microphone and is recorded as noise. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of modes are provided for the rotational speed of a cooling fan. While recording operation is not performed or when recording a still picture, the cooling fan is rotated at high speed to improve the cooling effect. When sound is recorded using a built-in microphone, when the volume of sound to be recorded by the built-in microphone is low or when an internal temperature of the device is low, priority is taken over the effect of reducing noise, by rotating the cooling fan at a low speed.
