SOLUTION: The production method of an RE123-based oxide superconductor includes steps of: forming a complex phase precursor including RE2O3by heating a mixture raw material in a state that the mixture raw material containing at least RE2BaO4and a Bax-Cuy-Oz-based raw material is held inside a holding member; making the complex phase precursor dense by pressurizing the complex phase precursor held inside the holding member after the step of forming the complex phase precursor is carried out; and heat-treating the complex phase precursor which is made dense in an atmosphere containing oxygen.
