<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide more dictionary functions with a predetermined amount of dictionary data with high operability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronic dictionary 1 includes: a character input means inputting character data; a dictionary data storage means storing each headwords and dictionary data holding translation data corresponding to the headword; a first extraction means extracting the translation data corresponding to the headword from the dictionary data corresponding to a first dictionary kind using character data input by the character input means as a headword; a second extraction means extracting the translation data corresponding to the headword from the dictionary data corresponding to a second dictionary kind using the translation data extracted by the first extraction means as a headword; and a display means displaying the translation data extracted by the second extraction means.
