<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording tape cartridge capable of preventing the fall-off of a reader tape from its housing and holding part even if the reader tape is pulled in the winding direction of a reel due to shocks of the fall or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The recording tape cartridge 10 has : an overhanging part 26 attached to the end of a recording tape T and overhanging in the width direction of the recording tape T; an engaging hole 24 engaged with the pull-out member of a driving device; and an elastic holding member 28 disposed closer to the pull-out direction side by the pull-out member than the engaging hole 24. The recording tape cartridge is further provided with: a reader tape 22 pulled out of an opening 20 formed in a case 12 by its pull-out member; a housing and holding part 50 formed in the case 12 to house and hold the overhanging part 26; a door 30 disposed in the case 12 to open and close the opening 20; and a holding means 60 attached to the door 30, and holding the elastic holding part 28 during the closing of the opening 20 by the door 30.
