<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preferably inspect the resolution or refractive power of a diffraction type multi-focal point intraocular lens in the air. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An apparatus of inspecting the intraocular lens includes a light source emitting inspection light, and inspects the resolution or refractive power of the diffraction type intraocular lens having a plurality of focal points in the air with a design central wavelength as the wavelength of visible light. The central wavelength of the light source is set by assuming that the diffraction type intraocular lens having a prescribed refractive index is the lens to be inspected. In the relation between an incident wavelength and diffraction efficiency of the intraocular lens in the air obtained on the basis of the prescribed refractive index, it is selected in a wavelength range of an infrared region in which the proportion of the diffraction efficiency of zeroth order diffraction light to the first order diffraction light in the air is about 1/3 to 3.
