The safety system for a wheelchair (1), to prevent tilting over backwards, has struts (6,7) with support rollers (13) at their free ends mounted to an end of the rear axle by a clip which swings at the outer end of the rear axle (3). It has an operative setting at right angles to the axle and a rest position parallel to the axle. The clip has a joint plate (9) which runs at a positive or a negative angle according to the mounting end of the rear axle. The struts swing out to prevent the chair falling over backwards and are folded in when not in use. |
