PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless terminal and a base station device capable of saving transmission power of the wireless terminal when the wireless terminal and the base station device perform communication by an OFDM or OFDMA system. SOLUTION: The wireless terminal 10 communicates with the base station device 20 by a transmission system using any of frequency bands of wireless signals according to the OFDM or OFDMA system, or any of a plurality of modulation systems. The wireless terminal includes: a transmitting part 12 which transmits, when a data amount of object data to be transmitted to the base station device 20 is less than a predetermined amount, the object data according to a predetermined transmission system; and a data amount notification part 17 which notifies the base station device 20 of the data amount when the data amount is equal to or more than the prescribed amount, wherein the transmitting part 12 transmits the object data according to the transmission system specified on the basis of the data amount by the base station device 20 after notification of the data amount notification part 17.
