<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plasma display panel, capable of easily and quickly inspecting a calcination state of a partition in a formation process for a partition of the plasma display panel and attaining calcination of the partition at the optimum calcination temperature by applying feedback to the calcination temperature on the basis of determination information obtained by this inspection. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the plasma display panel, a luminous flux is irradiated to the partition 9 in a manufacturing process, an average gray scale of reflected light of the luminous flux by the partition 9 is measured, and quality of the calcination state of the partition 9 is determined by comparing the average gray scale with an average gray scale value based on the reflected light from the partition as a pre-measured standard value.
