<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescent (EL) device superbly applicable to jumboization of a substrate, with voltage fall at an electrode restrained. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic EL device has an organic functional layer 6 formed between opposed electrodes 3, 5 and has a plurality of separators 4 for separating one of the electrodes 5 in strips. A step of forming that one electrode 5 includes a step of arranging an electrode material between the plurality of separators 4 by a droplet discharge method and a step of drying the electrode material arranged between the plurality of separators 4.
