<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology with which image quality deterioration in a liquid crystal display device can be prevented. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the display device, pixels each having a first electrode and a second electrode are arranged in matrix, the first electrode connected to a first video signal line and the first electrode connected to a second video signal line are alternately arranged between the first video signal line and the second video signal line adjacent to each other. One frame period is divided into equal-length R pieces of 1/R period, a level relationship between the potential of the gradation voltage applied to one video signal line and the potential of the voltage applied to the second electrode during the one frame period is reversed every 1/R period. A potential relationship between the potential of the gradation voltage applied to the first video signal line and the potential of the voltage applied to the second electrode is reverse to that between the potential of the gradation voltage applied to the second video signal line and the potential of the voltage applied to the second electrode, and R is ≥2 or integer equal to or below the number of scanning signal lines.
