PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method of a plastic molded article by which the effect of two kinds of gloss and matte and a metal texture are imparted to the surface of the plastic molded article. SOLUTION: The surface treatment method of the plastic molded article includes the steps of: providing a plastic base material having a surface where a roughened region has been installed beforehand; applying a base layer on the surface of the base material; forming a vacuum plated layer on the surface of the base layer; applying a transparent intermediate layer on the surface of the vacuum plated layer; and applying a transparent surface layer on the surface of the intermediate layer.
