<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head or the like in which a main magnetic pole and a light irradiation position are set close to each other while preventing illumination light being propagated from being absorbed by the main magnetic pole. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic head 100 includes: an optical waveguide 131 having a core layer 131 and a clad layer 132, extending toward an air-bearing surface F to expose a part of the core layer in the thickness direction T near one surface E of the core layer, and configured to propagate and emit illumination light; and a main magnetic pole 121 formed on one surface E side of the core layer, separated from the core layer, extending toward the air-bearing surface in parallel with the core layer, extending toward the air-bearing surface close to the core layer in a part near the air-bearing surface, and having a part near the air-bearing surface brought into contact with or close to the core layer to be exposed on the air-bearing surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
