PURPOSE: A battery apparatus and a method for controlling a battery applying the same prevent the deterioration of a specific battery cell due to current concentration by connecting a plurality of battery cells to be parallel with each other or in series. CONSTITUTION: A first charger circuit(110) charges a first battery pack(120) including at least battery cell. A second charger circuit(130) charges a second battery pack(140) including at least battery cell. A monitoring unit(150) monitors residual electric power of the second battery pack and the first battery pack. A power divider(160) controls the amount of power supply of the first and second battery pack. The power divider distributes the provided electricity to a plurality of outputs.
