<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of heightening reliability by suppressing a positional shift generated after curing an adhesive for fixing a light source and/or a photodetector by bonding after the adjustment of attachment in an optical axis direction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical device includes the photodetector 4, a holder 21 holding the photodetector 4 and a fixing member 8 fixing the holder 21. A fixing surface 8c for fixing the holder 21 is formed in the fixing member 8 and a surface 21 fixed to the fixing surface 8c is formed in the holder 21. The fixing surface 8c and the surface 21 to be fixed are disposed opposite to each other at an interval of a gap G in the optical axis direction of the photodetector 4 and the holder 21 and the fixing member 8 are fixed to each other with an adhesive 24 injected into the gap G.
