<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability by preventing a liquid from entering an ultrasonic wave transceiver and improving the echo characteristics. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In an ultrasonic wave transceiver, a terminal member constituted of a resin and a metallic terminal is used as a cap; a back opening of a cylindrical case with a bottom is covered from the outside of the case via a spacer constituted of an elastic material; and the inside of the case is filled with filling by an elastic member to an end face of the back opening of the cap. By fixing the cap and the spacer, liquid is prevented from entering the ultrasonic wave transceiver; and since unwanted vibration transfer to the terminal is also suppressed, object detection can be performed stably, up to a close range.
