A system for implementing IP-enabled color ring is disclosed by the present invention, and the system comprises a bearer independent call control (BICC) signaling access equipment, a service platform and a session initiation protocol (SIP) signaling access equipment, wherein the service platform is used for analyzing internal information acquired from the BICC signaling access equipment, encapsulating the internal information into an SIP signaling and sending the SIP signaling to the SIP signaling access and media service equipment; and the response of the SIP signaling acquired from the SIP signaling access and media service equipment is received and analyzed, encapsulated in an internal information mode and sent to the BICC signaling access equipment. The invention also discloses a method for implementing the IP-enabled color ring, which comprises the following steps: the service platform analyzes the internal information acquired from the BICC signaling access equipment, encapsulates the internal information into the SIP signaling and sends the SIP signaling to the SIP signaling access and media service equipment. With the system and the method of the present invention, a R4 network and a R5/R6 network can be merged to implement the IP-enabled color ring.
