GATEWAY DEVICE, ROUTING CONTROL METHOD, AND ITS PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in communications and reduce the cost for the communications, when redundancy of a gateway device used for virtual private network (VPN) etc. is carried out.

SOLUTION: A same end address is assigned to each of gateway devices 10 to be redundant. A main system gateway device advertises routing information for a route with a lower cost, compared with a route to a standby system gateway device. Thereafter, if the route via the standby system gateway device is selected because of failures etc. in the main system gateway device, the standby system gateway device establishes a new IPsec (Internet Protocol Security) tunnel with a terminal unit 20. Then, the gateway device 10 minimizes the cost of routing information advertised by the own device. When another end address is assigned to the gateway device 10, the end address is shut down and the routing information about the end address is deleted.
