<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicular automatic transmission for realizing shifting with quickened response with suppressing turbine blow-up during the shifting. <P>SOLUTION: When a response in hydraulic control by a hydraulic control circuit 42 fails to satisfy a preset predetermined determining criteron, enhancing the shifting response is suppressed compared with a case that the determination criterion is satisfied. In a state that the response of hydraulic control by the hydraulic control circuit 42 is comparatively low because of mixing air into hydraulic fluid or the like, control for prohibiting high-response shifting or the like is performed, which can suitably prevent generation of the turbine blow-up due to delay of the hydraulic response.
