PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel interpolation device capable of interpolating a lacked pixel on a screen image by natural connection. SOLUTION: An image interpolation processing section 30 includes: a pre-interpolation section 31 for calculating an estimated value of density of the lacked pixel from peripheral pixels of the lacked pixel; and an average correction section 32 obtaining a first average value as an average value of density of a pixel in a first two-dimensional range including the lacked pixel wherein the estimated value calculated in the pre-interpolation section 31 is set up to be a density value and a second average value as an average value of density of a second two-dimensional range which is in the vicinity of the lacked pixel and does not include the lacked pixel and correcting the estimated value regarding to the lacked pixel in the first two-dimensional range so as to get rid of or lessen a difference between the first average value and the second average value.
