PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection structure and a joining method for an entrance frame, which can be suitably applied even to a construction method for retro-framing vertical and horizontal frame materials, and which enable the firm and fine joining of a joint between the vertical and horizontal frame materials. SOLUTION: One of joint members, which are formed in such a shape that dovetail cross-section protrusions 22 (a pair of male engaging pieces 24 and 24) and recessed grooves 33 can be fitted to each other and which comprise a pair of male and female members 2 and 3, is protrusively attached to an inside surface of an upper end of the vertical frame material 41; and the other joint member is attached into a bored portion 43 which is formed in such a shape as to be opened in the end surface and top surface of the horizontal frame material 42. An end surface of the horizontal frame material 42 abuts on the inside surface of the vertical frame material 41 which is erected at a side edge of a wall opening, and the horizontal frame material 42 is slid upward to fit the joint members together.
