<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge transfer mechanism for measurements capable of heightening a light-shielding property in a measuring stage without lowering the durability of transfer belts and provide a measuring apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The measuring apparatus 1 for performing measurements through the use of cartridges 200 housing a reagent is provided with: a pair of ring-like transfer belts, a transfer mechanism 100 for transferring the cartridges 200, arranged at such an interval that transfer surfaces along a vertical direction in each transfer belt may hold the cartridges 200 in such a way as to be opposed to each other for transferring the cartridges 200 in a horizontal direction so as to reach the measuring stage 20 from a dispensing stage 10 and a moving means for moving the cartridges 200 to a measuring part 21 arranged in either the upper or lower transfer belt among the pair of transfer belt in the measuring stage 20.
