<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which is thin and which has enhanced mechanical strength. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display device has a means 20 for tightening a back casing 1 and a chassis 4 of the display device together on their respective outer peripheral portions, and a means 19 for fastening the back casing 1 and the chassis 4 together internally. The back casing 1 and the chassis 4 are internally fastened together at a plurality of portions and make contact with each other in their internally fastened sections, either directly or via internal components, forming a box-shaped cross section.
