<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzymatic polymerization method for producing a polyester resin suitable for using in toner production. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this method, at least two components selected from a group consisting of lactones, lactides, cyclic anhydrides, cyclic carbonates, and their combination, are brought into contact with an enzyme selected from a group consisting of lipase, cutinase, and their combination, and at least two components are polymerized to form a copolyester resin.
