摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high quality slab, less in foaming defects and flux-caused defects. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the continuous casting method of steel, the steel is continuously cast by using a continuous casting machine, that is equipped with a pair of upper magnetic poles 3a, 3b and a pair of lower magnetic poles 4a, 4b oppositely facing across a long side of a casting die and that is also equipped with a dipping nozzle 2 having a molten steel discharging angle α of 30°≤α<50° downward from a horizontal direction of the molten steel discharging port, and braking the molten steel flow by a DC magnetic field impressed each to the upper magnetic poles and the lower magnetic poles while stirring the molten steel by an AC magnetic field impressed in a superimposed manner to the upper magnetic pole. In accordance with the intensity of the AC magnetic field impressed to the upper magnetic poles and with a casting slab width and casting speed, there are optimized the intensity of the DC magnetic field impressed each to the upper magnetic poles and the lower magnetic poles and the intensity ratio of both DC magnetic fields. As a result, a high quality slab is obtained having less defects not only those due to non-metallic inclusions and mold flux as in conventional problems but to minute foam and mold flux.
