<p>A steering lock device is provided with a body frame, a lock insertion hole formed in the body frame, a lock member slidably mounted in the lock insertion hole, a pin insertion section formed in the lock member, a stopper containing section formed in a main frame (2), a stopper pin contained in the stopper containing section, and a trigger removably mounted to the main frame. The stopper pin is urged by a stopper spring toward a latch position, and when at the latch position, the stopper pin engages with the pin insertion section in the lock member located at a lock position. When in a state in which the trigger is mounted to the main frame, the trigger engages with the stopper pin to hold the stopper pin at an unlatch position. First step sections engaging with the stopper pin located at the latch position are provided at the periphery of an opening in the stopper containing section and at a portion of a wall surface of the lock insertion hole which portion is located on the unlock position side. Even if the cover or a coiled spring for urging the lock member is removed, the lock member is reliably held at the lock position by the stopper pin, so that the lock member is prevented from being unlocked without authorization.</p> |
