The profile (10), comprises a strand-shaped profile body (14) made of wood plastic composite (WPC) material (12) by extrusion, where a surface (18) of the profile body is region-wisely provided with a coating (24), which prevents the moisture penetration in the WPC-material. The profile body is formed as profile-hollow body with an inner surface (20). The coating is applied on the inner surface by co-extrusion. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a floor covering system for external applications.
