A broadcast program processing apparatus of the present invention enables a user to acquire evaluation data provided by others who have already watched a broadcast program when he or she intends to play back the recorded broadcast program to watch it. A broadcast program receiving apparatus (10) records the broadcast program received from a BS/CS tuner (13) or a terrestrial tuner (18) on an HDD (24). Before playing back the broadcast program, the broadcast program receiving apparatus acquires the evaluation data concerning the broadcast program provided by others using a cell phone connected to a cell phone unit (22) over a network. The acquired evaluation data is outputted in connection with the recorded broadcast program using an OSD circuit (28). The user can determine whether he or she wants to watch the broadcast program with reference to the evaluations made by others, before playing back the broadcast program to watch it.
