<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately reproduce a spot color by a printer. <P>SOLUTION: A Lab value independent of a device is set as a target color of the spot color. Color patch data consisting of a plurality of dots is generated in a device-independent color space in accordance with the target color and is converted to printer device color patch data by using a correspondence relation between a device-independent color space of a printer profile and a printer color space. This patch data is output from the printer and is subjected to colorimetric operation. Estimated values of the printer color space (for example, CMYK) by which the target color is properly output are obtained by using actually measured values (device-independent color space) of patch data and values in the printer color space, and a spot color dictionary is rewritten. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
