PURPOSE: A word line driving circuit and a method thereof are provided to remarkably reduce current consumption for word line driving operation by using a ground voltage instead of a negative voltage or a pumping voltage. CONSTITUTION: A word line driving circuit comprises a first driver(410), a second driver(420) and a third driver(430). The first driver drives a word line to an activation electric potential. The second driver drives the word line to a deactivation electric potential. The third driver drives the word line to an electric potential between the deactivation electric potential and the activation potential. The third driver executes an operation in the modified state of the activation/deactivation of the word line.
